Responsibilities
As the Youth Program Coordinator, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Creating a safe and inclusive environment for youth participants, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices
- Coordinating the Spider Monkeys and Chimps Climbing Program to provide a nurturing, educational, and challenging environment for young climbers
- Collaborating with instructors and staff to design age-appropriate and skill-building climbing activities
- Mentoring and supervising youth climbers during program sessions, providing guidance and support as they develop their climbing skills
- Coordinating CAMP CLIMB Day Camps for PA Days, March Break, and Summer, offering exciting and educational climbing experiences for participants
- Oversight of email communication to parents regarding program enrolment, registration, and scheduling, ensuring clear and timely information dissemination for youth programs
- Maintaining program records, tracking participant progress, and providing regular updates to parents and guardians
- Assisting in the recruitment, training, and supervision of program staff
- Contributing to the overall marketing and promotion of youth programs to attract new participants and enhance program visibility
- Collaborating with management to develop and manage the program budget, including resource allocation and procurement of program supplies
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (Availability is non-negotiable)
- Saturday or Sunday
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Experience working with youth in a recreational or educational setting
- Experience with Rock Gym Pro software (an asset)
- Strong knowledge of rock climbing techniques, safety standards, and equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young participants
- Organizational skills and attention to detail to effectively plan and execute program activities
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of instructors, staff, and volunteers
- Passion for youth development and a commitment to creating a positive and enriching experience for young climbers
- Certification in youth program leadership, climbing instruction, or related areas (an asset)
