COVID-19 Policies
We will be reopening our doors following a three stage process.
Stage 1. September 1, 2020: Members, 10 visit members, youth programs only
Stage 2. December 1, 2020: New Members are welcome. We have several membership options to choose from however, Day Passes are not available at this time.
Stage 3. Dates to be determined: Day passes, Birthday parties and groups booking will be available.

STAGE 2 REOPENING:
During Stage 2, we are only accepting new members; day rates are unavailable at this point. We are now offering Introductory Lessons and belay verification only. Day passes are not available during the Stage 2 reopening process however, there will be several options for Memberships available for purchase.
We are not performing belay refreshers, or any other type of belay service outside the realm of a belay lesson as defined by the Rock and Rope Climbing Centre. Please note that we are only accepting new members at this time. Day passes will be unavailable for purchase. Additionally, we are not accepting cash payments.
We are open Tuesday to Friday from 5:00 – 10:00PM and on Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 – 5:00PM. Walk in visits are unavailable however, members and non-members are able to book a 2 hour climbing session through our online booking calendar.
If you need to purchase climbing equipment, please check out our Online Retail Store. We offer free local delivery (City of Peterborough) or curbside pickup at the gym.

All Youth Programs will be scheduled during times when the gym is closed to the general public during Stage 2. Youth Program participants whose sessions were affected by COVID-19 will receive a gym credit for the values of the classes missed, that can be applied to future Youth Program bookings. Booking a Session
- We are accepting new members,
- If you are under quarantine, feeling unwell and/or experiencing any SARS COVID-19 symptoms please do not book a session,
- We are offering 2 climbing sessions/day where each session will last for 2 hours only,
- Top Rope or Boulder Climbing Sessions are available at this time,
- Available climbing sessions are scheduled for Tuesday to Friday 5:15 - 7:15PM and 7:30 - 9:30PM and Saturday and Sunday 12 - 2PM and 2:15 - 4:15PM,
- Climbing sessions or Introductory Lessons need to be booked online prior to your arrival,
- A maximum of 2 session can be book by the same person/week.
- Members are required to wear a mask at all times and observe Federal and Provincial COVID-19 protocols at all times,
- Change rooms, coat racks, and other storage areas are not available,
- Members are required to sanitize their hands prior to checking in and out of the gym,
- We are not accepting cash payments.
- We highly recommend the use of Alcohol based liquid chalk,
- The Top Rope and Boulder Rooms will be divided into clearly defined Zones where climbers can perform physical distancing,
- A maximum of 2 climbers can be in a Zone at a time for Top Rope Climbing while Boulder Zones are designed for 1 climber,
- Members are asked to stay in their Zones until it is safe to move to another Zone,
- We require that you leave promptly by the end of your 2 hour climbing session,
- The gym will be cleaned and sanitized between sessions.
IMPORTANT: Every new visitor is required to sign a waiver form to participate in climbing or belaying. Save time, fill out the form online and we will have it waiting in our system when you arrive. Participants under 18 are legally required to have a parent to sign the waiver, without exceptions. Please note that grandparents are not permitted to fill out waiver forms for their grandchildren.

Youth Programs

How it works
- Youth Programs will be held during times where the gym is not open to the public.
- SMC members will meet 1 day/week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 4:00 - 5:00PM,
- TCC members will meet 1 day/week on Sunday from 9:45AM to 11:45PM or Friday 5:00 - 7:00PM,
- ADP members will meet 2 days/week on Sunday from 9:45AM to 11:45AM or Friday 5:00 - 7:00PM
- TEAM members will meet 2 days/week on Mondays from 5:00 - 9:00PM and Saturday 7:45AM - 11:45AM
- It is recommended to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your Youth Program sessions.
- Sanitize your hands upon entering the gym, and wear a mask at all times.
- Youth Program Members are required to check in and check out of the gym.
- Change rooms, coat racks and other member storage compartments will not be available so please come dressed for the program,
- We do not have seating arrangements for parents,
- We are not accepting cash payments.
- We highly recommend the use of Alcohol based liquid chalk,
- All Youth Program participants will be guided by their instructors and coaches to follow Federal and Provincial guidelines regarding Physical Distancing and COVID-19 with regards to indoor recreation,
- The Top Rope and Boulder Rooms will be divided into Zones where climbers can perform physical distancing,
- A maximum of 4 climbers and 1 coach can be in a Zone at a time for Top Rope Climbing while Boulder Zones are designed for 1 climber,
- Youth Program Members will move between Zones under the direction of an Instructor or Coach,
- We require that Youth Program Members leave promptly by the end of their Session,
- The gym will be cleaned and sanitized between sessions.

Our staff will be screened on a daily basis, utilize PPE such as masks, face shields, and sneeze guards. The high contact surfaces will be cleaned and sanitized between sessions.
